Restaurant & Outdoor Kitchen
All guests are welcome in the communal area and restaurant. Here you will find a library, a TV, games and toys. You can get beverages and snacks in the ‘honesty bar’. A delicious breakfast is served daily. Three times per week, between April and September, we serve a 3-coursemeal. During these dinners, guests enjoy spending time together and socialise. The same also happens regularly in communal outdoor kitchen, where guests can cook for themselves.
The Round House
Monte Rosa has a beautiful heated activity room. The large double glazed windows have a beautiful view over the wine vineyards. In The Round House various activities are offered, which guests can participate in. The Round House is also available for rent to organise your own workshop, training, meeting or any other type of activity. Most workshops focus on a healthy lifestyle, personal development or mindfulness. More information about renting The Round House can be found here »
There are plenty of activities for children in the Algarve. But also at Monte Rosa our youngest guests will not be bored. Kids can explore the surroundings, for example to build huts. There’s a dressing-up box and there are many games and books. Kids can pet the cats, feed the chickens and pick up fresh eggs from the coop. This is often a new experience for children from the city! They can also help out in the organic vegetable garden. Of course there are also many hours spent in the swimming pool, on the swing, the slide and on the football field.
The Swimming Pool
The swimming pool of Monte Rosa, five by ten meters of size, is located in the middle of the quiet countryside. It’s wonderful to read a book in the shade of a parasol or in one of the hammocks, before taking a dip in the cool water. Of course the pool is the place for children to have fun during the summer holidays. On warm summer evenings you can also swim in the romantic underwater lighting.
Our Permaculture Garden
The vegetable garden of Monte Rosa is designed according to the principles of permaculture and is daily taken care of by our volunteers. From tasty tomatoes, zucchini, beets, fennel and various kinds of lettuce to delicious potatoes, raspberries and melon. But there are also lots of different fresh herbs such as mint, basil, sage and rosemary. When preparing meals we try to use as much products from our own garden as possible.
