Activities for children are plentiful in the Algarve. But even at Monte Rosa the youngest guests will not be bored. The grounds are inviting to explore, for example to build huts. There are swings, a slide and a sports field. There is a dressing up box and the common room you will find many games and books. Our cat Mo loves to be petted and the kids can join us to feed the chickens and get fresh eggs from the henhouse. For city kids this is often quite an experience! They can also help in the organic vegetable garden. Of course, many hours will also be spent in the pool, which is beautifully lit at night.<\/p>\n

Within walking distance of Monte Rosa is a small-scale zoo, the Lagos Zoo. It is a beautifully landscaped park with mostly small animals, some 140 different species of monkeys, birds, reptiles and fish. It is possible, sometimes for an additional fee, to help feed the animals. From April to September, the swimming beach \u201cBoulders Beach\u201d is open. Children can splash in the water next to the African penguins there! The costs for the first child are \u20ac6 per hour, \u20ac4 extra will be charged for each subsequent child.
