Hiking weeks


Winter Walk Week:
1 week bed and breakfast with car from Faro: 220 euro pp (based on 2 persons per room)

The Western Part of the Algarve is a beautiful area for hiking. Along the westcoast you will find rough cliffs, high waves and quiet beaches. The whole coast is part of a nature reserve: "Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina" This parc has a very rich flora and fauna. Click here to see a list of all the birds and the vegetation in the area. In this parc there are several hikings to be made.


Another area that is known for its interesting wildlife is the estuary of the Rio Alvor. Here you will ind storks, flamingos, (white) herons, and many other grallatorial birds.

The Monchique mountain is the highest mountain area in the Algarve. From the top (920m) you will have a splendid view on the Western part of the Algarve and the see. Here too some beautiful walks can be made.

Besides there are walks at the(Barragem de Bravura) and through the woods of Barao de Sao Joao. In total more than 25 walks, from which many with maps.

The walks are very varied, sometimes you will have to walk over the cliffs, sometimes through the woods with pine trees, cork aoks and "medronheiros". Off cours we can advise you about the walks that will suite you best.

Many of the walks can be made with your own car. With these walks you will start and end at the same place. But there are also lineair walks. Guests without own transportation can use our transfer service. The use of the descriptions for the walks and the maps are free. In combination with breakfast, packed lunches can be made. Often there will be a possibility to have lunch in a restaurant halfway.
